For those of you new to us, or if like me you are a bit forgetful (you can’t remember what you had for breakfast, but you do remeber all the lyrics to The Patty Duke Show theme song) a quick update. All our pricing includes hospitality, there is no tip line on our credit card receipts, we don’t care to send an unclear message. In our view it’s time to pay restaurant workers as the professional people they are, and to remove (as one unhappy patron mentioned) the power to punish and reward. If you desire to leave a bit of cash on the table, fantasizing about relaxing in some Roman cafe on a breezy spring day (a fantasy we would hope to share) or are moved to log onto our website and add to the virtual tip jar, feel free to do so. We will not (as a restaurant owner once did to Amy) chase you down the street and throw the cash back in your face with a look of disgust. That money will be equally divided among all our non-management staff, both kitchen and front of the house. We have recently raised prices to reflect the cruel reality of inflatin over the last 21 years. When acounting for this, and the addition of hospitality we believe our prices are quite similar to when we opened in 2001, although sometimes that’s hard to believe.
A quick note on dogs: while we love dogs and many among us live with dogs, we normally can’t seat them on the back patio, there is simply not enough space. Please don’t take the occasional exception as the new rule. When weather is nice and we are able to seat out front, your well-behaved dogs are most welcome.
Finally, and most importantly, we can’t thank you enough for all the support you have shown us these past very difficult years, we are lucky and most grateful.
